Week 3-2 | Positive VS Negative reply

In Mandarin, there are specific ways to answer in Mandarin.  The verb  sed in the questions are used to make a positive or negative reply.

The verb is repeated:

Q: Nǐ xǐhuan fàn ma?

Do you like rice?

你喜歡飯嗎?

A: Xǐhuan.

(I) like.

or

A: Bu xǐ huan.

(I) dont like.  

Q: Jīntiān shì xīng qī yī ma?

Is today Monday?

今天是星期一嗎?

A: Shì.

Yes (is).
